How We Started
We started BarrierLab because we were exhausted. Exhausted by shelves full of products packed with fragrance, alcohol, and unnecessary fillers — products that looked premium, had beautiful packaging, but routinely triggered flares, redness, and breakouts in sensitive skin.
The problem wasn't a lack of options. It was a lack of honesty. Too many brands put fragrance in a moisturiser for the sensory experience and call it "calming." Too many serums contain irritating actives and get labelled "gentle."
So we stripped everything back. We built a small, focused range around one principle: barrier health first. Every ingredient earns its place. Every product is formulated to protect and repair — not just to perform on a shelf.
What We Stand For
Not natural fragrance, not essential oils, not parfum. Fragrance is the number one irritant for reactive skin — so it has no place in our formulas.
Every product is reviewed by independent dermatologists and tested on real skin — including sensitive, reactive, and rosacea-prone types.

The Science
The skin barrier — the stratum corneum — is your skin's protective outer layer. When it's healthy, it keeps moisture in and irritants out. When it's damaged, your skin becomes reactive, dry, inflamed, and sensitive to almost everything.
Most skincare inadvertently damages the barrier: harsh cleansers strip lipids, alcohol-based toners disrupt the acid mantle, and fragrance triggers immune responses in the skin.
Every BarrierLab product is formulated around ceramides — the lipids that form the structural backbone of the skin barrier. Combined with supportive humectants and carefully selected actives, our formulas actively restore and reinforce the barrier rather than deplete it.
